As many of you know I’m really into Cosplay Photography, in fact it is my favorite thing to shoot! Last weekend I got to go to DragonCon in Atlanta with some of my best friends and had a great time networking, meeting celebrities and shooting some of the most amazing Cosplayers I’ve ever seen. While these are not all the shot I took these are what I consider some of the best of the best of the best (with honors).
If you were a Cosplayer at DragonCon and don’t see your shot here, don’t worry I’ve posted them over on my Flickr account! Below are some standout shots I like plus a gallery of my top 25 or so shots from DragonCon 2014. Be sure to checkout the Unleashing Cosplay Music Video I produced on YouTube.
Cosplay Photogaphy Doesn’t Have to Be Expensive!
All of my shots were taken on my Nikon D3200, a camera that now only cost around $500 with a kit lens, I used a 35mm f/1.8 Nikon lens to take these shots, which cost $200 and used an off camera Speed light flash that you can buy for $75-250. You don’t need an expensive camera setup to get amazing shots whether you are shooting cosplay or any other type of photography. I processed my shots in a Adobe Lightroom.
